Commitment

Accessibility Statement

Our commitment to making our website and services accessible to everyone.

Our commitment

The British Cycle & Scooter Association is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities. We are continually improving the user experience for everyone and applying the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance standard

We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible to people with a wide range of disabilities, including visual, auditory, physical, speech, cognitive, and neurological disabilities.

Measures we take

Semantic HTML throughout the website for proper screen reader support

Keyboard navigation support for all interactive elements

Sufficient colour contrast ratios meeting WCAG 2.1 AA guidelines

Alternative text for all meaningful images

Clear and consistent navigation structure

Form labels and error messages that are accessible to assistive technology

Responsive design that works across different devices and screen sizes

Focus indicators on all interactive elements

Known limitations

Despite our best efforts, some areas of our website may not yet be fully accessible:

  • Some PDF documents may not be fully accessible. We are working to remediate these.
  • Embedded third-party content (such as booking widgets) may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control.

Assessment approach

We assess the accessibility of our website through a combination of automated testing tools, manual testing with assistive technologies, and user feedback. We review our site regularly and address issues as they are identified.
