For Organisations

Duty of Care for Staff Who Cycle and Ride

Evidence your organisation's duty of care with certified hazard awareness training, individual completion records, and HR-ready reporting. Whether it's campus cyclists, delivery riders, or warehouse operatives -- give your people the safety knowledge they need.

Why This Matters

More people cycling, more employer responsibility

More employees are cycling and scooting to work than ever before, driven by Cycle to Work schemes, shared mobility services, and urban infrastructure investment. But employer duty of care does not stop at the office door. If your staff commute by bike or e-scooter, you have a responsibility to ensure they have the knowledge to ride safely. BCSA provides a structured digital pathway: certified hazard awareness training with individual completion records that evidence your organisation has taken reasonable steps.

Use Cases

Built for diverse organisations

From large employers to temporary events, our programme adapts to your needs.

University Campuses

Certify students and staff who cycle or scoot around campus. Reduce incidents and demonstrate duty of care.

Warehouses & Logistics

Train warehouse operatives and site workers who use cycles or scooters for on-site transport.

Delivery Riders

Provide certified hazard awareness training to delivery riders before they go on the road.

Events & Temporary Sites

Short-term certification for event marshals, volunteers, and participants at cycling or mobility events.

Employers with Cycle to Work Schemes

Complement your Cycle to Work benefit with certified safety training. Demonstrate that employees joining the scheme have the hazard awareness to ride safely.

E-scooter legal status

Private e-scooters remain illegal on public roads and pavements in the UK. BCSA training covers hazard awareness for all micromobility, but certification does not confer any legal right to ride an e-scooter on public highways. Employers should ensure their policies reflect current legislation.

Course Tracks

Two tracks for workplace safety

Choose the course that fits your organisation's needs.

Employer Rider Safety Awareness

General cycling and micromobility safety for commuters. Covers road hazards, junction behaviour, visibility, and defensive riding in urban environments.

Workplace Micromobility Awareness

Focused on e-scooter and shared mobility safety in urban commuting contexts. Covers legal status, shared infrastructure, pedestrian interaction, and responsible riding.
